I have been writing about soot blowers and sonic soot blowers for some time now - and learning a lot along the way! So far, however, I have not been able to locate any particularly good videos of what's involved in the process ... until today.
Here is a great video of a sonic soot blower in operation on the economizer unit of a boiler. You can see its shape, how it's installed and hear the actual audiosonic sound waves it emits (a blast of about 10 seconds) as part of its cleaning process.
